In the immortal words of Cher, "If I could turn back time" what would you change or do differently? For me there would be some things I might want to change but not many..... or I wouldn't be here where I am right now!
1969 was a magical year with some world changing events: We put men on the moon, Woodstock was the most prolific music festival ever with over 500,000 attending, Scooby Doo aired its first episode, the Manson Murders happened in Hollywood, the first automatic teller machine was installed, Wendy's Hamburgers was founded, the world's first internet was created called Arpanet , the #1 song was "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies, Joe Namath and the New York Jets won Super Bowl #3 over the Colts, Best Film Oscar Winner was Oliver, and locally UTD opened its doors to new college students and our own DJ Joel Morris was 1 year old!
Looking back 50 years I was a young freshman high school student, athlete and musician who had an opportunity to start what would be my amazing career as a DJ at the local radio station in my hometown. I was making minimum wage which was $1.60 per hour back then as I learned some invaluable trade skills as an entertainer and communicator. Little did I know this would be my future for the next fifty plus years! I worked my way through high school and college both playing in bands and as a DJ at radio stations and night clubs until moving to Dallas in 1977. That was the age of Discotheques in Dallas clubs and I quickly adapted from Rock n' Roll dude to Disco Man! LOL!
The rest has been an amazing journey as I formed the Dallas DJ Service - Party Time Texas as an entertainment agency to book DJs, Bands and many other services for Weddings, Corporate and Special Events here in the Dallas and Fort Worth area.
So no....I would not turn back time....in fact, I'm looking forward to the next 50 years hosting and entertaining across the great state of Texas and beyond!
