I am DJ Mel and am so happy to be part of the Partytime Texas Team! Music is my passion. For as long as I can remember music has been a big part of my life. My parents both rocked out and I have fond memories of jamming out on the regular to Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Fleetwood Mac, Creedence Clearwater Revival, just to name a few! The musical journey I have taken in my life I owe to my parents. Their passion in music definitely impacted me in all I do. So thanks, Mom and Dad! I feel what sets me apart from other DJs is my musical style. I try to tell a story when I spin. If all DJs were the same it would definitely be boring!

My musical background consists of being a vocalist, trained in jazz and blues as well as classic country genres. Broadcasting is another forte of mine. For the past 5 years I have been broadcasting sets specifically EDM, Dance or Trap music genres. I pick these genres so I can blend the music, taking you on a journey. I always say, "Come sail with me!" It is a lot of fun and the feedback is what makes it truly rewarding for me.

What do I do for fun outside of DJing? Family is very important to me. I try to spend the little time I have outside of music and work with them. Honestly, music is my outlet. If I am not vibing to it I am making remixes, broadcasting or screening to music to play at sets. I love the quote, "When words fail, music speaks." That is so true! Every set I perform I do my best to emulate those words. With weddings, those precious moments such as the First Dance, so much feeling can be conveyed with that perfect song. I would be honored to be part of that special moment and many other moments on Your day!
